Therapy for Children

Parenting is one of the hardest jobs in the world, and watching your child struggle can feel overwhelming and heartbreaking. Whether your child is dealing with anxiety, big emotional outbursts, trauma, or difficulty connecting with others, you don't have to figure it out alone.

At the Center for Connection and Wellness, our child therapists in Nashville and Hendersonville, TN specialize in helping children ages 3–12 understand their emotions, build coping skills, and feel more confident in the world around them.

Signs your child may benefit from therapy

- Frequent meltdowns or emotional outbursts that are hard to manage

- Anxiety about school, friendships, or everyday situations

- Withdrawal from family, friends, or activities they used to enjoy

- Difficulty sleeping, nightmares, or changes in appetite

- Struggling after a big life change (divorce, loss, new sibling, moving)

- Aggressive or defiant behavior at home or school

- A history of trauma or adverse childhood experiences

If any of these sound familiar, therapy can make a real difference — for your child and for your whole family.

How we help children in Nashville & Hendersonville

Our child therapists use a variety of approaches tailored to each child's needs, including:

Play Therapy— Children communicate through play. In a safe, welcoming space, our therapists use play to help kids process emotions and experiences they may not have words for yet.

TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) — A research-backed approach designed to help children who have experienced trauma, attachment challenges, or adverse experiences. TBRI builds trust, connection, and felt safety.

Art & Creative Therapies — For children who express themselves better through drawing, building, or movement, we incorporate creative approaches that make therapy feel natural and engaging.

Parent Coaching — We don't just work with your child. We work with you too, giving you the tools and understanding you need to support your child's growth at home.

We also offer occupational therapy for children who need support with sensory processing or daily living skills.
